The project is being managed by the Office of Public Works
Construction on a new primary school in Kanturk is to begin later this year.
The Department of Education has confirmed that the tender for the construction of the school will be awarded in the coming weeks.
The OPW say they have confirmed that a preferred tenderer has been identified.
It is expected that the entire build phase of the project will take approximately 14-18 months to complete, and that the school could open to students in 2022.
