Core social welfare payments will increase by 12 euro per week starting from Monday.
Social Protection Minister, Heather Humphreys, says it's part of efforts to help with the cost of living crisis.
The Department of Social Protection expect this increase in a wide range of social welfare payments to add up to over one billion euro.
These measures will come into effect from next week, and include the threshold expanding for the Working Family Payment by €40.
The fuel allowance is also being extended to 81 thousand more households.
There will be increases to care allowances for children with severe disabilities, as well as the disability allowance itself.
Most will be affected by the €12 weekly increase to core social welfare payments, with over 1.5 million people set to benefit.
