Cork Airport is advising passengers flying from the airport to arrive at least two hours before their flight is due to leave.
Over 135,000 passengers are expected to pass through the terminal up to the 6th of January.
The airport say they are on track to become the first airport to recover to pre-pandemic passenger numbers and say they expect to have hosted 2 point 2 million passengers in 2022.
Speaking to RedFM News, Communication Manager at Cork Airport Barry Holland has this advice for passengers:
"Over the coming days, we will see a significant amount of departing passengers, having spent Christmas in Cork and Munster. We'd recommend arriving at least two hours before your flight is due to depart. If you are checking-in a bag, we'd recommend that you allow some additional time to do that. Also, if you are bringing home any gifts or presents, we'd encourage you that they would not be wrapped, that they would be clean of any wrapping paper, because they will be subject to an inspection at security screening".
