Cork Airport are asking all passengers to arrive at least 90 minutes before their flight.
The airport is expecting to host around 60,000 people over Christmas and the 2nd of January is due to be the busiest day for departures.
It's the busiest time at the airport since the pandemic broke out and people are reminded that only passengers, staff and crew are allowed inside the terminal.
Speaking to RedFM News, Group Head of Communications at DAA Kevin Cullinane has this advice for passengers:
"Allow at least 90 minutes for any flight in and out of Cork Airport this year. If you're parking a car, maybe allow another 20 minutes just so you have plenty of time. One good tip this year is that if you are packing presents to carry onboard the aircraft, maybe put it in a gift bag this year rather than wrap it because you may be asked by security personnel here in Cork are at another airport to unwrap the present if there's something shows up on the X-ray machine so that will just avoid any delays."
