Management at the country's largest airport have been heavily criticised for long delays which has resulted in some passengers missing their flights in recent weeks.

Ryanair are advising people to turn up to the airport at least three and a half hours before their flight, while Dublin Airport say they are doing everything possible to recruit and train more security staff.

Speaking to RedFM News, Communications Manager at Cork Airport Barry Holland says they do not expect the same disruption to hit Cork:

"Well at present our security waiting times, our passenger security screening have been operating as normal and consistent in the year thus far.  However as the summer progresses we will have an increased number of flights. We are susceptible to the same resourcing challenges as our counterparts in Dublin. We are optimistic that we are readily resourced for that as the summer progresses. Cork Airport consistency advises passengers to arrive between 90 and 120 minutes before the flight is due to board."
