Figures released by the airport today show it was the busiest January in over 6 years years.
Over 161,000 passengers travelled through Cork Airport during the first month of 2023.
It's 12% more than January 2019 and an impressive 149% increase compared to the same month last year.
Security screening ran smoothly for the month with 97.7% of passengers passing through the metal detector in less than 20 minutes.
London Heathrow is the most popular connection and 78% of all flights departed on time.
Contrasting Cork with Dublin; the country's largest airport welcomed 2.1 million passengers in January compared with Cork's 161,000 and handled almost 89,000 passengers on it's busiest day compared to almost 7,000 for Cork.
February is expected to be another strong month due to the extra Bank Holiday, Valentine's Day and the mid term break.
