Cork Airport is expecting to handle over 26,000 passengers over the long St Patrick's weekend
More than 5,000 passengers are expected to travel through the airport on Sunday alone and the extra bank holiday on Friday has acted as an incentive for people to travel
The Cheltenham horse racing festival is also helping to swell numbers with horse-racing enthusiasts travelling to and from the UK for the Festival, and management say all this movement is leading to the airport's busiest St Patrick’s holiday in three years.
