Cork Airport says its reduced its free set down time to 10 minutes because of an increase in passenger numbers.
Last year the airport saw a passenger increase of 25% on the year before.
The set down area time which has been reduced by 5 minutes, will cost at least €3 if motorists stay over 10 minutes.
Speaking to RedFM News, Barry Holland of Cork Airport says the new rule is to ensure that traffic flows smoothly through the airport:
"With the increased volume of passengers, it means there's going to be an increased volume of traffic. And that means that, to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of traffic through the drop off and set down area, a ten minute free period will apply."
