Minister of State Hildegarde Naughton was in Cork today for the announcement
The Airport's €40,000,000 Runway Reconstruction has today been awarded to Colas Group.
The reconstruction of Cork Airport’s main runway will be the fastest large-scale construction project undertaken in the State in recent years and over 250 construction jobs to be created during the project.
Minister of State Hildegarde Naughton told RedFM news that it's a positive development to ensure the future of Cork airport:
"Today I'm delighted to announce the approval of €10,000,000 of Government funding towards the reconstruction of the runway at Cork Airport. This is part of a €40,000,000 investment at Cork Airport today and it will be the fastest large scale construction project undertaken in the space in a number of years so really positive, to ensure that we can maintain that regional and international connectivity for Cork and the wider region."
