Nearly €10 and a half million has been allocated to Cork Airport for operational funding.
This funding is being administered under the Regional Airports Programme which provides targeted support for vital safety and security operations at the airports.
The money will be spent on services such as air traffic control, fire services and security, ensuring airports can continue to remain compliant with regulatory requirements in these areas.
A midterm review of the Government’s Regional Airports Programme will be completed by the end of next yea and this will help to determine how the programme can spur further connectivity and services from airports like Cork.
