Cork Airport says they are constantly working to create new routes and increase capacity on existing connections.
The airport described 2022 as an "extremely strong year" and expect passenger numbers to grow by over 160,000 to 2.4 million this year.
Management say they are still seeing pent up demand after the Pandemic and say the annual Christmas and New Year boost coupled with demand for winter breaks has resulted in highest January passenger numbers in 7 years.
Eight airlines will operate over 40 routes from Cork during the summer season...
Speaking to RedFM News, Cork Airport Communications Manager Barry Holland says their forecast for this year is "incredibly encouraging".
"Despite the talk of consumer confidence taking a dip over the winter, we are getting indications that it will be a very strong summer, a very busy summer. Cork Airport is ready for that, we have a very strong summer readiness plan in places.
"Cork Airport business development team are always engaged with our existing airline customers, but also perspective airline customers, with a view to increasing the number of services we have here, new routes, and also increasing the capacity on existing routes."
