Cork Airport’s growth surpassed Dublin Airport’s in March.

Almost a quarter of a million passengers travelled through Cork Airport last month – up 10% since last year.

Meanwhile, Dublin Airport suffered a 3% drop compared to last year's figures.

Speaking to RedFM News, Barry Holland from Cork Airport says it was the possibly the busiest March on record:

"We've had exciting news throughout the month of March including Air France resuming their direct service to Paris Charles De Gaulle, The Frankfurt service is back as well. The summer schedule kicked off as well so all in all just shy of a quarter of a million passengers in the month of March, which is probably one of the highest we've seen in March, if not the highest on record."
