Mick Devine of the Tabor Group was speaking as ESRI data shows problem gambling in Ireland is ten times worse than first thought.
The report found that people with a gambling addiction on average spend around 1,000 euro a month feeding their habit.
Speaking to RedFM News Mick Devine of the Tabor Group says there is a great secrecy around gambling which can make it very hard to seek help
"If a gambling problem has developed, it's usually already shrouded in secrecy. It's harder to talk about a problem, especially if say family funds are being used, and as there's money being used that other people don't know is being used, that makes it harder for someone to be open about the fact that they're bringing financial risk onto the family"
