Cork Chamber says public transport in Cork is one of many areas it would like to see funded in Budget 2025.

The group's Pre-Budget Submission highlights key road projects, flood relief schemes and the long awaited Events Centre as some priority projects for the county.

Speaking to RedFM News, CEO Conor Healy says the Government could be more ambitious in the time it takes to deliver its plans:

"We need to see significant progress, particularly across our bus services. there's a lot of conversation around at the moment with regard to the challenges of the bus service in Cork, think we need to move forward very quickly with Bus Connects. That requires you know the ongoing funding commitment, and then, particularly in Cork, we have a major focus on delivery of light rail in a far shorter timeframe than is currently planned."
