Heavy rainfall caused widespread flooding and traffic chaos across Cork city and county yesterday.
A double yellow wind and rain warning was in effect for Cork yesterday, with 55mm of rain recorded at Ballincurrig.
Flooding was reported across the city, with Sunday's Well, Turner's Cross, Harbour View Road, the North Mall, Togher, Penrose Quay and the Crestfield shopping centre in Glanmire among the worst hit areas.
The South City link Road outbound and inbound has reopened this morning - the road was closed after it became impassable yesterday evening.
Gardai in Cork City are urging motorists to drive with caution this morning, with spot flooding still in places while a number of poles are down around the county
A huge traffic tailback developed on the South Ring Road heading west last night when the exit to the Kinsale road became impassable, with traffic backed up as far as Mahon, however that has since reopened.
Cork City fire brigade attended a number of scenes to help pump water away, including Blackpool and Glanmire.
In the county flooding was reported in Cloyne, Mogeely and at Kilcully.
