Cork City Council stepped in to help a grieving daughter commemorate her mum at one of the City's parks.
Florence Coller's mum died suddenly last summer, and one of the last outings she had with her mum was at Fitzgerald's Park where they had an ice cream together on a bench in the park.
The Echo reports that after her death Florence continued to visit the park and sit on the bench where she was often joined by a friendly robin,
She contacted the Council and they agreed to commemorate Florence's mum by carving a robin into the bench at the park.
Florence praised the City Council for their kindness and says seeing the little robin on the bench has really helped her through the grieving process.
