A busy city is a safe city.
That's according to the organisers of the Night-Time Economy Strategy for Cork as plans to make the city a 24 hour destination have been approved by the City Council.
The initiative which is designed to create a vibrant night-time culture will attract more footfall into the city after dark.
Cork Night-Time Economy Advisor Fiona Collins told RedFM News that busy streets, like seen at the Jazz weekend, will ensure the city is safe:
"I think a busy city, though, is a safe city as well. So, you know, jazz weekend was there. We had so many people out over the weekend. It was just so lovely. People commented that they, you know, everything was being able to walk down the street, and just having so many people around was a wonderful thing. So I'd love to see more activities like that shaping the city as well."
