Cork City Council's Women's Caucus has branded the closure of Holly Cairns' office amid safety concerns "shocking."
The Social Democrats leader has been forced to close her constituency office in Bandon, and all signage has been taken down.
Cork South West TD, Holly Cairns has previously spoken publicly about feeling terrified when an online stalker appeared at her home.
Speaking to RedFM News, chair of Cork City Council's Women's Caucus, Mary Rose Desmond says public representatives should feel free to do their jobs:
"It's shocking to think that any public representative, or anybody at all in society, would have to close their premises for safety reasons, and that they can't freely do the job and be accessible in the manner in which having a Constituency Office provides for for your constituents and the people in the locality. To have to close like that, due to various security reasons is just shocking altogether - in any walk of life".
