Fianna Fáil Councillors tabled a motion at last night's Cork City Council meeting which called on the council to reject the National Transport Authority's draft plans for 12 new sustainable transport corridors.
The Echo report that the motion called on the NTA to engage in meaningful discussion with residents, called for more public consultation, and called for the establishment of a permanent NTA office in the city.
Councillors voted in favour of the motion after the wording of it was amended.
Some elements of the BusConnects plan have been criticised, including the removal of trees, the removal of on-street parking and the potential acquisition of land.
