Cork County Council are calling for the Minister for Justice and the Garda Commissioner to do more on the issue of cyber and phone scams.
The issue was raised at the council full committee meeting this week after residents from across the
county contacted councillors.
The Eco reports the issue was raised by Fianna Fail Councillor Seamus McGrath who wants to see
the Government and the Gardai increase resources in this area.
The Council are to write to the Government and to the data protection sector on the issue.
