That's the view of a Cork County Councillor as veterinary officers in the Council want dog insurance to be made mandatory.
Experts have questioned whether pet insurance could broadly cover different forms of public liability.
Cork County Councillor Bernard Moynihan says attacks have been linked to certain breeds:
"Some dogs are so dangerous they should not be in the country. You know, they should be they should be banned in my view because we're we're talking about human life here. This could happen to a toddler or an infant or some children out playing or anything like that."
