She is the first ever Independent female councilor to take the role
Cllr. Mary Linehan Foley has been elected following a unanimous vote by Full Council.
The Youghal-based councilor was the first female to be elected Mayor of the East Cork town, and today became the third female Mayor of Cork County, the most recent being Cllr. Barbara Murray, who held the office in 2012-2013.
