A Cork couple has rejected the HSE's apology over the death of their baby boy at Cork University Maternity Hospital
Aidan and Amanda O'Reilly's baby boy Alfie died in his father's arms four days after his birth in July 2020
His parents settled an action against the HSE over his death but say their four year legal battle has left their trust in the health and justice system shattered
Speaking to RedFM News Amanda says the apology came four years too late
"It's an apology we had to ask for. The HSE weren't forthcoming with an apology. It's something that during our mediation with the HSE that my husband Aidan and I asked for. So first of all, an apology that has to be requested is not one that's going to be accepted easily. So absolutely, we reject it. You can't accept an apology that you've had to ask for, especially four years after the fact"
