Cork Debenhams workers call for Government support

Former Debenhams workers in Cork say their ongoing protest is presenting more challenges for them as the country reopens, with many staff putting off searching for new jobs in order to maintain a presence outside the stores.

A blockade was mounted outside the Patrick St store yesterday when two trucks attempted to remove stock from the outlet which workers say is belonging to the Irish stores.

They have been protesting for weeks after they were left without redundancy when the company announced the closure of its Irish stores.

They're now calling on the Taoiseach and Tánaiste to visit the them outside the Patrick St branch.
