John O'Connell from West Cork Distillers in Skibbereen received the EY Industry Entrepreneur Of The Year award at a virtual ceremony last night.
The distillery was set up by John and his friends Denis McCarthy and Ger McCarthy in 2008 and produces whiskey and gin and also pure alcohol for distillers across the globe.
Nicola Mitchell of Life Scientific was named the overall EY Entrepreneur Of The Year and will now go forward to compete for the title of EY World Entrepreneur of the Year which will be held in June 2021.
