A Cork eating disorder campaigner says she's disappointed the Minister of State for mental health didn't attend their meeting in the Dáil yesterday.
Members of CARED Ireland met with Ministers and TD's yesterday during Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
Paula Crotty who lost her daughter Jennifer to an eating disorder close to 2 years ago is calling for improved services for those affected by the illness.
Speaking to RedFM News, Paula says people with eating disorders are often treated in the wrong hospitals:
"Putting them into general medical hospitals, or they're putting them into general psychiatric hospitals, none of which have staff that know or have any training in how to deal with eating disorder patients. It's like putting a patient who needs dialysis into a cancer ward. it doesn't help."
