Cork GAA says a concert at Supervalu Pairc Uí Chaoimh offers a financial lifeline to the stadium.
The venue is gearing up to host Bruce Springsteen on Thursday the 16th of May.
The stadium was renamed 3 months ago in a bid to clear 30 million euro worth of debt.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cork GAA CEO Kevin O’Donovan says a concert brings in well over €6m euro to the city:
"You get a rental fee from the promoter and then you have all the f&b from the stadium as well so massive uptake and that in the night. I suppose it's huge for the stadium, it's it's a lifeline really for us when they come around, but also then we look at the macro economic impact as well it's worth over 6 million to the city minimum because that's what a Munster rugby game would bring. A concert would be an upgrade on that. So when you think of that as a minimum figure, we're delighted the revenue we gain but also we look at the broader impact it has as well.
