It comes as the Rural Independent Group of TD's say a lack of investment in rural roads is putting lives at risk.
The group says rural areas are disproportionately affected by a reduction in funding in maintenance work.
The alliance is calling for Fianna Fail and Fine Gael to stand up to the Green Party, who it says is against building new roads.
