Five percent of the country's pubs have closed their doors since the beginning of the pandemic, with Cork being the worst affected.

That's according to joint analysis from the pub trade's representative bodies.

Cork has lost 37 pubs while Dublin and Donegal have each seen 33 pubs shut.

The Vintners Federation of Ireland says it highlights how pubs bore the brunt of Covid restrictions.

It's also called on the Government to clarify the way ahead in terms of public health rules, to ease anxiety among publicans.
