Cork icon, Billa O'Connell was laid to rest in St Finbarr’s Cemetery earlier.
His Requiem Mass was held in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at The Lough and was attended by family and friends as well as dignitaries such as the Taoiseach
Billa was born on Christmas day in 1929, and made his debut in the Cork pantomime in 1947.
Eight years ago he was awarded the Freedom of Cork City for his lasting and indelible mark on Cork theatre.
