Thousands of homes were left without power in the county after Storm Ellen brought torrential rain and winds of around 140 kilometres per hour on Wednesday night and Thursday morning...

Residents and businesses in Skibbereen were also left counting the cost after the town suffered severe flooding.

An orange rain warning in place for Cork from 9pm is expected to lead to spot flooding and a yellow wind warning comes into effect from 6am tomorrow.
