Gerry O'Halloran and his sister Mary were the victims of an aggravated burglary on the 13th of February.

A man broke into Gerry's home in Gurranabraher and held the siblings at knife point before fleeing the scene with €1,800.

Gerry was too nervous to return home following the incident and today moved into a new home run by SHARE.

Mary told Virgin Media News that Gerry is very happy in his new house and said they would be forever grateful for the kindness shown to them since the incident.

A GoFundMe campaign set up by the paramedics who treated the pair following the incident raised over €23,000 in less than 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Gardaí are appealing for anyone with any information regarding the incident to come forward.

They are keen to speak with anyone who was in the Boyce's Street area between 6:30am and 9am on February 13th to contact them in Gurranabraher on 021 494 6200
