A Cork man is being hailed a hero after he saved a young boy's life in Passage West.
Kevin Power was out walking yesterday when he noticed some commotion on the pier in the town.
He noticed a 12-year-old drifting by the pier on a piece of a pontoon, and ran home to get his kayak.
He entered the water with a life bouy and towed the boy in.
