A Cork member of The Women of Honour group says she's hopeful that the report into the Defence Forces will be a catalyst for change
An Independent Review Group found multiple and sustained cases of bullying, harassment and sexual assault.
Honor Murphy from the Women of Honour group says she believes the process is finally moving in the right direction and there seems to be an appetite for change
President Michael D Higgins says he feels a sense of shame and hurt after reading the report and has paid tribute to those who spoke to the review group - describing them as the 'bravest of the brave.'
The President added he and the public will now expect changes to be implemented in full and without delay.
Speaking to RedFM News Honor Murphy from the Women of Honour outlines what she believes needs to happen next:
"A Full public commission of inquiry, and it needs to be a victim-led inquiry, and we need to definitely be involved in it. It needs to be a collaborative approach and it needs to have the power to compel witnesses and documents, and it needs to cover the full defense organisation including the Department of Defense".
