Cork has been named as the county with the most awarded sites for best beaches and marinas in the country
The county has secured 27 awards in all including 10 Blue Flag beaches, 2 Blue Flag marinas and 15 Green Coast Awarded sites.
An Taisce conferred 159 awards in total for the 2023 season - 84 beaches and 10 marinas in Ireland received the blue flag while 65 beaches were awarded the Green Coast Award
Fountainstown and Inchydoney East Beach are among the 8 sites around the country to receive both the Blue Flag and Green Coast Award
Garretstown beach is one of four beaches which has lost the blue flag it was awarded last year
