Caitriona Twomey of Cork Penny Dinners spoke to RedFM News, as figures published today by the Department of Housing show 443 people were officially registered as homeless in the city and county in November.
Speaking to RedFM News, Caitriona Twomey says that not enough is being done to address the situation:
"The numbers may not reflect the true amount of people that are homeless because people that are staying with friends have to come to us for to get something to eat or staying with family members and still have come to a system situation. And people have tried to stay up BnBs and hostels and things so it doesn't reflect the true numbers that we see. The demand that we have from people that are homeless is huge. So there's, there's a big fear out there and the numbers will grow and there's not enough being done to address the situation."
