The Cork leg of Ed Sheeran's world tour is coming at a great time as the local economy is beginning to bounce back.
Concert promoter Peter Aiken says there is a huge appetite for live music in Cork and the staging of this concert with the novel "in the round" stage has brought the experience for concert goers to a whole new level.
The rotating stage has been specially designed to have no blind spots for the audience and offers 360 degree views of the action, he also has a band on board and pyrotechnics which all add to the event.
Ed Sheeran is a firm favourite Leeside and his popularity has even prompted RedFM to take on a new identity in the form of EdFM which will be marked by a special event at Shandon Bells at midday.
Speaking to RedFM News Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions says the hitmaker can't wait to come back to Cork.
"He has the talent, but most importantly he has the songs.
"Every song is a hit, and you can't get any better than that.
"I think he's got seven songs that have had over a billion streams - I don't know any other artist in the world that is anywhere close to that."
