A Cork primary school is making it's presence felt in the educational podcast charts.
Through their podcast, last year's fifth class pupils at Scoil Oilibhéir on the northside of Cork city, have brought the story of Cork's rare Republican silverware to life.
Cork Republican Silverware tells the full story of how just a small amount of these craft pieces were ever made during the Irish Civil War period.
After the burning of Cork in 1920 Cork silversmith William Egan couldn't get his silver to Dublin for hallmarking and so devised his own hallmark which was used for three months from July to September 1922.
It is estimated that only 80 pieces were marked with the so-called republican stamp, they rarely appear at auction, but sell for five-figure sums when they do.
The podcast is listed in the top 100 educational podcast chart and can be found on Spotify, Acast and iTunes.
