Heavy traffic is expected this morning as the Cork Primary Schools' Sports event is taking place at Munster Technological University.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and to cooperate with Gardaí and Stewards on duty.
The event starts at 9.30 and is expected to finish at 6.30 this evening.
Over 6,000 children from more that 300 schools will be participating in the event.
