Met Éireann says there will be a brief dry spell tonight before more heavy wind and rain tomorrow morning.
A Status Yellow rain warning remains in place for Cork until lunchtime tomorrow
30 to 40 millimetres of rain is expected to fall during the weather alert as well as thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind.
Speaking to RedFM News, Linda Hughes from Met Éireann says rain will be heavy again tomorrow morning
"There's going to be a brief drier spell, and then the next rain is going to move in tomorrow morning, so it's going to be wet morning and that rain will clear eastwards by tomorrow afternoon. So there is going to be two spells of heavy rain, and the yellow rain warning covers those two periods, starting today, and continuing until 1pm tomorrow with strong winds, with that rain"
