Met Eireann says the combination of the rain that has already fallen, high spring tides and swollen rivers has led to the weather warning
The heaviest of the rainfall is expected overnight with a risk of some coastal flooding however this is not expected to be a severe weather evet
Speaking to RedFM News Forecaster Michelle Dillon says it is an improving weather picture
"The worst of the rain is overnight and into early tomorrow morning. So it's, today we have a little bit of a reprieve at the moment but the rain will become heavier later this evening and overnight, again, and still some rain into tomorrow morning but then that rain will be moving away northwards"
