Cork Simon says drug use is a problem that continues to engulf homelessness, saying that despite the pandemic people are still finding themselves falling into the trap of drug use.
According to a recent survey drug use is the second most common reason for becoming homeless.
However speaking to RedFM News Paul Sheehan of Cork Simon says the charity continue to operate their addiction services despite the ongoing impact of the pandemic.
"Drug use is a problem, but the services are still operating. People who need to access drug services are able to access them quickly.
"Obviously early on, almost a year ago, we were concerned that those people who were dependent on drugs would find it particularly challenging.
"But all of our teams supporting drug users continue to work, and continue to support people.
