Cork Simon has described a woman sleeping in a skip bag on a derelict premises as heartbreaking.
The woman was found by city council workers in the Friars Walk area.
549 people were accessing emergency accommodation in Cork according to the latest figures from the Department of Housing.
Speaking to RedFM News, Paul Sheehan from Cork Simon says a person found sleeping in a skip bag is shocking, but not surprising:
"It's the reality of sleeping rough, people find anywhere they can that's got a bit of safety that's out of the weather, that's away from the elements, and as shocking is, it doesn't surprise us."
