Cork Simon says it’s concerned about the volume of people who will need to sleep in its shelter this winter.
549 adults were accessing emergency accommodation in Cork according to the latest figures released by the Department of Housing.
The charity which helps people out of homelessness fears that figure will spike as the weather worsens.
Speaking to RedFM News, Paul Sheehan from Cork Simon hopes the shelter will have enough space for everyone this winter:
"Our biggest concern is to try and make sure we can find a place so they at least have a safe place to stay tonight, it's not ideal, but it's better than being on the street."
