Cork Simon says record homelessness figures should be a wake-up call for the Government.

611 adults were accessing emergency accommodation in Cork according to the latest figures.

That’s a 13% increase in the number of people who were homeless across the county last year.

Speaking to RedFM News, Paul Sheehan from Cork says the Government needs to make eliminating homelessness it’s number one priority:

"It's another record monthly high, 611 adults were accessing emergency accommodation in Cork. It comes at a time when a new Government is in place and this should certainly be the wake up call they clearly need to say homelessness is our number one priority."
