Sinn Féin TD Thomas Gould says he's "entirely innocent" after being questioned by Gardaí investigating an alleged business fraud over a decade ago.
Sinn Fein Cork city Councillior Ken Collins was arrested as part of the same investigation in January.
In a statement issued through a solicitor in Cork over the weekend, Deputy Thomas Gould confirmed he was the Oireachtas member questioned on Friday and later released without charge.
The Cork North Central TD says he's shocked and angry over the complaint made against him by "a former employer" and "confident he will be vindicated".
Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald says he informed the party last month that a complaint had been made against him, which he "emphatically denies".
Meanwhile, Sinn Fein Cork City Councillor Ken Collins was arrested in January as part of the same probe and released without charge.
He has denied any wrong doing in relation to an alleged €150,000 business fraud which happened almost 10 years ago.
