A Cork South West TD will be the next leader of the Social Democrats.
Founding members and co-leaders of the party Catherine Murphy and Róisín Shortall announced on Wednesday that they would be stepping aside from the role.
In a tweet, Deputy Holly Cairns said she was excited to announce her candidacy.
Since then, all other potential candidates declared their support for the 33 year old - meaning she will be elected unopposed.
