These are just some of the comments made by Cork Independent TD Michael Collins in his Hot Press interview
Deputy Collins says he believes rapists and paedophiles should be chemically castrated and criminals should get an automatic 25 year sentence for their third conviction
Speaking to RedFM News he says there has to be more significant consequences for serious crimes in this country
"Well, I believe that serial offenders who are out there raping women and raping innocent children - paedophiles - that something has to happen here. We cannot be going light on crime. We're gonna light on crime in this country for many, many years now. So if somebody is a serial rapist out there and is found totally and utterly guilty, well yes, then there has to be drastic action carried out in this country"
