Derry Cronin operates Specialised Travel Services, Cronin's Coaches and Select Hotels of Ireland.
The group says while they are seeing an increase in enquiries from people in other countries for next year, many people contacting them are fearful that any trips they do book may be cancelled due to the pandemic.
Speaking to RedFM News, Derry Cronin says more clarity is needed to allow the tourism and hospitality sector to plan ahead:
"In the last even four and five weeks, we're starting to see an increase in enquiries and people starting to plan for next year. Ireland has punched above its weight internationally. It's always been seen as a safe destination an a fun destination and that's going to come back very strong, so long as there's clarity, because those people that are planning know, they want to know what happens if [a business] closes down again or what happens if we're not allowed to travel."
Derry Cronin from @CroninsCoaches says it could take up to 6 years for the tourism industry to reach pre-pandemic levels and says continued government support is vital. More on air and online @RedFMNews pic.twitter.com/A7ZfushbQc
