It is asking members of the public to only visit the hospital in the case of a genuine emergency
A statement issued to RedFM News this afternoon on behalf of CUH is advising people to present themselves at a GP, Southdoc, or a Local Injury Unit where possible.
The statement goes on to say that if a member of the public is seriously ill or injured, the Emergency Department will treat you as a priority, but that the focus is discharging patients as soon as possible.
